Victoria

{May 2009}

Here are some laid back and relaxed spots in Victoria that we fell in love with:

Ferris' Upstairs Oyster Bar (Suite A, 536 Yates St.) - casual, small plate dining; incredible cocktails and baked oysters - http://www.ferrisoysterbar.com/

Rebar Modern Food (50 Bastion Square) - vegetarian; casual, laid back vibe, solid breakfast and incredible juice bar - http://www.rebarmodernfood.com/

Red Fish Blue Fish (1006 Wharf Street) - fish and chips, and excellent 'tacones' outdoors in the harbour - http://www.redfish-bluefish.com/

The Tapa Bar (620 Trounce Alley) - small plates to linger over, good martinis (esp. on Mondays when they are $5), and open every day of the week - http://www.tapabar.ca

Cafe Brio (944 Fort Street) - pretty casual and laid back modern Italian, with lots of local inspiration; try the chicken liver parfait - http://www.cafe-brio.com/

Blue Fox Cafe (919 Fort Street) - huge plates and a bohemian breakfast vibe; huge lineups on the weekend, so probably steer clear

Ottavio - Italian Bakery and Delicatessen (2272 Oak Bay Avenue) - house salumi, local and imported cheeses, pastries and other fun items; solid coffee and a pretty patio to share a charcuterie plate - http://www.ottaviovictoria.com/
